The mission of Interlink Self-Help Center is to provide a safe environment in which those of us facing our mental health challenges can improve our quality of life through self-help, mutual support, and empowerment.
Opened in 1996 through the efforts of individuals with lived mental health experience, alongside community advocates and partners who recognized the lack of peer-managed and operated services, Interlink Self-Help Center was created to fill a critical gap in support.
Founded on the principles of the Mental Health Self-Help Recovery Movement, Interlink embraces the belief that people can and do recover from psychiatric challenges. Guided by the philosophy of “Nothing About Us Without Us,” the organization promotes meaningful involvement in every aspect of the mental health system.
Rooted in hope, self-determination, choice, and the protection of rights, Interlink was established as a safe and welcoming space. It continues to offer self-help, peer support, and empowerment opportunities for individuals navigating emotional challenges, as well as the stigma and discrimination that too often accompany them.
